#DiskiNites: Legendary with Thabo Mngomeni


The next edition of Diski Nites will feature legendary Bafana Bafana and Orlando Pirates midfielder Thabo Mngomeni.

Mngomeni, started his professional career at the now defunct Cape Town Spurs before moving to Umthatha Bucks. He went on to captain Pirates and the South African senior national team and retired at Hellenic.

Under the theme LEGENDARY, the exciting LIVE interactive football talk show will use the platform to launch a campaign to honour the decorated midfielder.


All will be revealed at the Rockwell Theatre (Greenpoint) on Wednesday, 3rd August 2016.

Matthew Booth to headline Diski Nites

Former Bafana Bafana defender Matthew Booth will be headline guest at the next edition of Diski Nites, a LIVE interactive take show hosted in Cape Town.


The decorated former centre-back, who played for close to 20 years as a professional, will speak on the topic “Sustainable Football Careers” on Wednesday, 30 March 2016.

He remains the only South African national footballer to be involved in the FIFA World Cup, Confederations Cup, under-20 World Cup, as well as Olympics.

“Diski Nites is continuously trying to raise the bar in terms of integrated football conversations,” says founder and host Sizwe Jacques Mbebe, Umjaka.

“Matthew Booth is one of the best football personalities to speak on the topic of ‘Sustainable Football Careers’. This is a guy that has enjoyed one of the longest careers as a footballer and has played in possibly the best Cape Town Spurs team ever and as far as Russia.

“He is amongst the greats of South African football. This is a guy who has a great and insightful story to tell. Fans and upcoming youngsters stand to benefit a lot from his experience as a player and personality in football.

Mngomeni to co-host Diski Nites

Former Bafana Bafana international Thando Mngomeni has officially joined the Diski Nites production team as one of the co-hosts of the exciting live interactive football show.

The former midfielder was a guests on Diski Nites: The Story Behind The Story in November, alongside FC Cape Town Director John Comitis.

He has since been involved in the background on the show learning the ropes, after declaring his interest in being an analyst and commentator.

“To add a former senior international to the show is monumental for Diski Nites, because Thando will bring valuable insights from an ex-professional player’s point of view which the audience will appreciate,” says Diski Nites founder and host Umjaka.

“Thando (Mngomeni) has always been witty and a great person to interview. He is a naturally well spoken and entertaining, so this will be an easy transition for him.

“He has spent some time assisting in the background and we feel he now ready to show the world what he can and help take Diski Nites to the next level.”

Mngomeni has previously represented Santos, SuperSport United, Helsingborgs (Sweden), Mamelodi Sundowns and Bidvest Wits.
