The next edition of Diski Nites will be the opening event of the historic Khayelitsha Arts Festival.

Former national cricket and hockey maestros Thami “Mara” Tsolekile and Lungile Tsolekile will join them in another segment to share on their journey.

Another Khayelitsha football star Mark Mayambela along with ex-Ajax Cape Town Yanga Gcilishe will make a special appearance at the event.

The exciting football show will be hosted at the multi-faceted good food and music venue, Rands Cape Town, with a complimentary offer of the venue’s African Delight meal for all those who attend.

Entertainment will be provided by Cape Town’s top deep house DJs Mphoza Fantastik and duo Live and Anzar, as well as a live performance by hip hop act Sibah Anne.

The former midfielder was a guests on Diski Nites: The Story Behind The Story in November, alongside FC Cape Town Director John Comitis.

He has since been involved in the background on the show learning the ropes, after declaring his interest in being an analyst and commentator.

“To add a former senior international to the show is monumental for Diski Nites, because Thando will bring valuable insights from an ex-professional player’s point of view which the audience will appreciate,” says Diski Nites founder and host Umjaka.

“Thando (Mngomeni) has always been witty and a great person to interview. He is a naturally well spoken and entertaining, so this will be an easy transition for him.

“He has spent some time assisting in the background and we feel he now ready to show the world what he can and help take Diski Nites to the next level.”

Mngomeni has previously represented Santos, SuperSport United, Helsingborgs (Sweden), Mamelodi Sundowns and Bidvest Wits.
